Our latest analysis reveals that the championship match didn’t simply continue the tournament’s trends. It rewrote them.

The Final Changed Internet Behavior

Across the previous fourteen verified 3 PM ET matches we analyzed, Peacock streaming remained remarkably consistent.

Every match fell within a relatively narrow range of 50,000 to 77,000 streaming hours.

Then came the Final.

Streaming reached 108,000 hours, exceeding the previous tournament high by 41% and becoming the only 3 PM ET match to break through the established viewing ceiling.

Rather than growing steadily throughout the knockout rounds, audience behavior changed only when the championship arrived.

Spain’s earlier matches showed only modest growth, increasing from 62,000 hours in the Round of 32 to 67,000 in the quarterfinals.

The Final jumped to 108,000 hours, a 63% increase over the quarterfinal and 73% higher than Spain’s first knockout match.

At halftime, usage collapsed almost simultaneously.
