Talk of downloads (speed, size, etc) is prevalent within the digital ecosystem, but a surprising piece of data gathered from Plume homes in 2018 and 2019 shows that upload traffic grew nearly 9% more than download traffic did over the same period. This points to a trend in upload-centric devices that will likely grow stronger as smart home technology begins to dominate the digital home environment. Could this signal a need to change established network architectures?
